Love what you do but your identity should not be the place of your work.
Asif Durrani
I am a schmoozer. I talk a lot and write articles in my free time on Medium. I read on a broader spectrum and read regularly. At present, I am reading Homo Sapien by Yuval Noah Harari.
I know the importance of education in one’s life. I went to affordable government school, college and university to complete my basic education. I was fortunate to get acceptance in Adamjee Science College for my higher college education and into Department of Computer Science, University of Karachi for my graduation – both of these institutions are known for the lowest acceptance rate in the city of 25 million+ people (Karachi). What I am today is because of the past education and on job learning but where I will be in the future will be based on my today’s investments.
Hence for me to move into the next stage of my career and personal growth I have invested significantly in myself. I managed to attend the finest business schools and best colleges while working. I went to Harvard Business School for an on-campus Strategy course a few years back, and recently I have completed my executive MBA from HULT International Business School. An amazing journey of two years with lots of highs, lows and countless sleepless nights.
During my pedagogy at HULT, I received the Dean’s List of Honor and HULT Annual Student Award (the Peer Motivator Award). I also pitched for HULT Prize Award and attended Accenture Consulting Weekend at HULT. These days I am preparing myself for a Doctorate of Business Administration and have placed myself in the grind until 2025. Let’s see how the future unfolds for me once my research work is completed and published.
You may also find me at the fairways of Montgomerie Golf Club, which is 15 min drive from HULT Campus; we can have a tee-off together if your handicap is higher than mine.
In my free time I write for lives, not for likes.
You may find my writing on Medium and follow me at LinkedIn to know more about myself and my work.
To start following my thoughts; I recommend below three articles to begin:
- Break the silence – A thought-provoking article which talks about modern day slavery and our ignorance towards it. This is from People & Society series.
- Challenge the flight plan – A thought-leadership article to highlight the surrender of our consciousness in corporate world. This article talks about the submission of our intellectual potential towards an authority. This article is from Leadership Essentials series.
- Love is a fiction – A thoughtful article about the relationship we manage in real life. A love is an act which demands submission without fear, reward, or trade. This article is part of Life is a fiction series.
